Refrigerant R-410A R410A 25 Lbs
Refrigerant R410A 25 Lbs. 100% Virgin Refrigerant. R410A is the most popular refrigerant for Air Conditioning application after OEM phased out of R-22. We only work with refrigerant manufacturer who has a proven record of quality (30+ years in business). Please contact us for bulk orders.
R410a (AZ-20, Puron, Suva 9100) is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant commonly used in air conditioning and heating systems. It is a blend of two HFC compounds, difluoromethane (R-32) and pentafluoroethane (R-125). This refrigerant was developed as a replacement for chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerants, which have been phased out due to their ozone-depleting potential.
Here are some key characteristics and details about R410A:
-
Chemical Composition:
- R-32 (Difluoromethane): 50% by weight
- R-125 (Pentafluoroethane): 50% by weight
-
Physical Properties:
- Chemical Formula: CH2F2 (R-32), C2HF5 (R-125)
- Molecular Weight: 72.58 g/mol (R-32), 120.02 g/mol (R-125)
- Boiling Point: -51.6°C (-60.9°F)
- Critical Temperature: 72.5°C (162.5°F)
- Critical Pressure: 4.94 MPa (718 psi)
- Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP): 0 (Ozone-friendly)
-
Thermodynamic Properties:
- R410A is known for its high efficiency and excellent heat transfer properties.
- It operates at higher pressures compared to some older refrigerants, which allows for smaller and more efficient HVAC system components.
-
Applications:
- R410A is primarily used in residential and commercial air conditioning systems, heat pumps, and some refrigeration applications.
- It is commonly used in new HVAC systems due to its favorable environmental profile and efficiency.
-
Compatibility:
- R410A is not compatible with systems designed for older refrigerants like R-22. Retrofitting may require equipment modifications or replacement.
- It is important to use specific lubricants and materials compatible with R410A in system components.
-
Global Warming Potential (GWP):
- R410A has a relatively high GWP compared to some alternative refrigerants. GWP is a measure of the greenhouse gas effect over a specific time horizon.
-
Environmental Considerations:
- While R410A is considered ozone-friendly (with an ODP of 0), it has a relatively high GWP. Efforts are being made to develop and transition to refrigerants with lower GWPs to address climate change concerns.
-
Safety Precautions:
- R410A is ASHRAE-listed as an A1 refrigerant, meaning that it has no flame propagation at 63°C. Toxicity is classified based on Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL)
As environmental regulations continue to evolve, the HVAC industry is exploring and transitioning to refrigerants with lower GWP to minimize their impact on climate change. R410A, while widely used, may see reduced usage in the future as the industry moves toward more sustainable alternatives.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
ABOUT HOW MUCH FREON WOULD A 1-TON UNIT THAT USES 410-A REQUIRE?
It depends on the line size and how long the lines will run. This needs to be determined in the field while checking the pressure.
