The Amana-Goodman B1172601 Flame Sensor is specifically designed to detect a flame. An ideal fit for various furnaces, it is found on many Amana, Goodman, and Janitrol spark ignition furnaces. This flame sensor is referred to as “Spark Ignition Sensor” also. If the sensor does not detect flame, it shuts the gas valve off, preventing raw gas from dumping into your home.
